This is a live spoken word performance of an old Forefeather piece called "To Create a Messiah", recorded courtesy of the amazing and multi-talented Lindsey Sitz at a small gathering of folks that had been through Coby Kozlowski's "Quarter Life Calling" program.
I've been reciting this poem for a really long time, but it's one of my favorite pieces to perform, so huge thanks and shouts out to Lindsey for making this footage a reality. The lo-fi but lovely recorded version of this track is available to stream or download right here, or you can stream or download the audio from this exact performance here. Say, do you think Planned Parenthood would be down to sponsor this poem as a public service announcement for the sake of birth control awareness? ;-P

Because of what I've learned during this internship though, I've come to the first time in my life where I intend to finally put all of my energies and efforts into my work as an artist. When my internship at Kripalu is over at the end of September, I'm diving in. I'll be moving to Brooklyn, NYC, as a statement of commitment to myself that it's NOW OR NEVER. (Read more...) |
